Whether you are an engaged couple looking for handles in preparing for marriage, recently married couples in the throes of conflict, seasoned couples desiring small tweaks to an otherwise fulfilling relationship, or anywhere in between, Marriage ROCKS™ challenges you to search for authentic meaning in your engaged or married life.
Marriage ROCKS™ has been developed to reveal the potential for both blessings and failings in marriage. The holy bible provides numerous examples of rocks serving as monumental standing stones which testify to the bounty of God’s provision. However, scripture also presents rocks as stumbling stones which can destroy your relationship with God and with each other.

Marriage ROCKS™ is a series of three interrelated programs that guide couples through the discovery process.
Marriage ROCKS: Base Camp can assist engaged and married couples in your organization by focusing on five modules that are integral to all marital fulfillment:
- Providing couples a biblical model to conceptualize the marital relationship in a new way
- Challenging couples to consider the current state of their engaged or marital union using simple tools
- Teaching basic communication skills
- Providing basic skill building for Managing the Marriage-Money Mess™
- Discovering new intimacy in marriage
Marriage ROCKS: The Ascent™ is DFI’s flagship program which empowers engaged, married, and even separated couples to discover the untapped potential of their marriage by committing to five rocks which symbolize transformative principles of marriage. Marriage ROCKS: The Ascent™ uses biblical vignettes, psychological precepts, and cultural insights to assist couples (and singles interested in marriage) on a journey from self-centeredness to physical, emotional, and spiritual intimacy with each other. But, the heart of the Marriage ROCKS: The Ascent™ program is the discovery of authentic marriage centered upon purpose and ministry.
Marriage ROCKS: The Summit uses a biblically-grounded “train the trainer” model to teach couples how to design and implement marriage-related services for profit and non-profit organizations. This ministry-oriented program helps couples to understand how to use their unique experiences as a married couple to benefit other marriages. Specific skill-building areas include:
- Performing ministry needs assessments,
- Developing ministry proposals
- Designing community, church, and home-based models to support marriages (some examples include – lay counseling for couples, marriage mentoring)
- Recruiting support staff
